The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regulates the collection, processing and transfer of personal data for the entire private and public sector. Personal data refers to an identified or identifiable natural person (“data subject”) in accordance with the GDPR. This definition is important because it includes data that is often not considered personally identifiable at first glance, such as: IP addresses, user or user IDs, GPS data, cookies, MAC addresses, unique mobile device IDs, or International Mobile Equipment IDs (IMEI).
